To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make it his policy to give full consideration to all the proposed rail link routes to the channel tunnel, with a view to making a decision which will maximise private sector involvement.

There are many issues including the prospects for commercial viability which the Government will consider very carefully before reaching decisions on British Rail's recommendations for the rail link.
