Lord Gainford

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How much has been committed to non-food aid humanitarian assistance so far this financial year, and what has been the source of such funds.

The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (The Earl of Caithness)

Commitments are as follows:

leaflet Wake up to what you can do for the Environment, the section on In the Garden encourages people to start their own compost heaps and to avoid using peat—which is a limited resource—wherever substitutes are available. This leaflet is also available to local authorities. I am arranging for copies of both the above leaflets to be placed in the Library.
