To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what is the 1991–92 annual budget for the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency; and what is the percentage allocated to staff costs.

§ Mr. Chope
The DVLA's gross voted provision for 1991–92 is £178.056 million of which £159.074 million is for running costs. Salaries are not ring fenced within running costs, but are expected to absorb about one third of the total budget.
