HC Deb 09 May 1991 vol 190 cc562-3W
Mr. Madden

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will take steps to enable Bradford Task Force to support training provided by the National Association for the Care and Resettlement of Offenders and other training centres facing closure, and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Leigh

[holding answer 7 May 1991]: All applications to Bradford task force for assistance for training projects are considered on their merits. The task force will continue to support schemes, in partnership with other funding organisations, which help local task force area residents obtain the skills needed to obtain employment.

Mr. Madden

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will direct Bradford task force to provide training places for those with special needs to replace those which will no longer be offered by the Bradford TEC; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Leigh

[holding answer 7 May 1991]: The Bradford task force already supports a range of training initiatives aimed at disadvantaged, unemployed task force area residents. Many of these are being carried out in partnership with the Bradford and district training and enterprise council.
