To ask the Secretary of State for Health what steps he is taking to ensure that all health authorities and national health service trusts follow the 1974 memorandum of guidance on family planning and make male and female sterilisation operations available under the national health service, both for family planning and medical reasons.

The national health service management executive is writing to all regional health authority general managers about the provision of male and female sterilisation operations.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will list those health authorities and national health service trusts which do not make available male and female sterilisation operations under the national health service.
