To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what are the current intervention stocks of wheat held in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Curry

A table setting out intervention stock levels in the EC and the United Kingdom is deposited monthly in the House of Commons Library. Latest figures were tabled on 12 March.

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the average ex-farm price of wheat received by(a) British farmers, (b) French farmers, (c) German farmers and (d) the EEC generally in 1979, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989 and 1990 in pounds sterling.

The information requested by my hon. Friend is not yet published for 1990. The information for the other years is set out in the table. Producer prices for the European Community as a whole are not available.
