§ Lord James Douglas-Hamilton"Scottish Criminal Statistics 1983–1988" (Cm 1475) was laid before Parliament yesterday and will be published today. The information for these years contained therein has already been issued in Scottish Office Home and Health Department statistical bulletins, copies of which were sent to all Scottish Members, and placed in the Library at the time of issue.
When there is a suitable legislative opportunity, we intend to bring forward an amendment of the present 185W statutory requirement to publish a consolidated and classified abstract of criminal statistics to reflect the current practice of providing earlier statistical bulletins on particular topics.
