§ Mr. AshleyTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) if he has given any advice to service benevolent funds regarding the distribution of money raised by the Gulf Trust; if the service benevolent funds have given him any information regarding money so far allocated; and on what criteria allocations are being made;
(2) how much money has so far been donated to the Gulf Trust; how much has been allocated to the benevolent fund for each service; and on what criteria the allocation was made.
§ Mr. Archie HamiltonThe total value of donations to the Gulf Trust currently stands at £1.2 million. Allocations from the trust to the service benevolent funds will be made in accordance with needs. No allocations have yet been made. The service benevolent funds will distribute moneys to those in need in accordance with their established practices and within the ambit of their trust deeds.
