§ Dr. David ClarkTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list all land currently owned by the Forestry Commission which it is planning to sell; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Michael Forsyth[holding answer 7 March 1991]: The Forestry Commission's disposals programme will continue until the end of the century, and the selection of properties for sale will accordingly be staged over that period. Advance notification of areas being considered for disposal is given in the Estates Gazette in respect of all woodlands of more than 5 hectares, together with any other land having a known conservation, recreation or amenity interest. Copies of the Estates Gazette are to be found in the Library.
The following forest areas are at present being offered for sale on the open market:

§ Dr. David ClarkTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will place in the Library a list of all land which was owned by the Forestry Commission and which has been sold since 1980 giving(a) the area of land sold, (b) to whom it was sold, (c) the year it was sold, (d) how much money the Forestry Commission received over the sale and (e) the type of woodland or other type of countryside.
§ Mr. Michael Forsyth[holding answer 7 March 1991]: The Forestry Commission is preparing a list of the areas of forest land which it has sold since 1980. This will incorporate information provided in answer to previous questions. I shall arrange for a copy to be placed in the Library as soon as possible.
Details of sales of land other than forest land are not held centrally and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
