HC Deb 11 March 1991 vol 187 c348W
Mr. Amos

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what steps his Department is taking to ban the sale of all new oral tobacco products in the United Kingdom; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Dorrell

The supply of oral snuff products was banned in the United Kingdom on 13 March 1990 by means of regulations under the Consumer Protection Act 1987. On 21 December 1990 the regulations were quashed by the divisional court on a procedural point. We have appealed against that decision.
