HC Deb 11 March 1991 vol 187 c409W
Dr. Godman

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many letters he has received since 4 January 1990 from Members of the European Parliament concerning local or national matters; and if he will make it his practice where the former are concerned to provide the hon. Member for the local constituency with copies of any such correspondence for his or her information.

Mr. Archie Hamilton

My right hon. Friend has received six letters from Members of the European Parliament about local or national matters since 4 January 1990. If there is no European Community content in the MEP's letter and a constituency interest predominates, the MEP would be advised to refer the case to the MP for the constituency concerned.
