HC Deb 11 March 1991 vol 187 c359W
Mr. Anthony Coombs

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations have been made recently to the Ghanaian Government concerning law No. 78 which allows for execution for political offences, and of law 4 which allows imprisonment without access to legal advice.

Mrs. Chalker

We have made no recent representations about these laws. We maintain regular ministerial and official contact with the Government of Ghana and they are well aware of our concern at some of their internal policies and on those concerning human rights issues.
