§ Dr. Mawhinney[holding answer 7 March 1991]: The most recent estimate for the academic year 1990–91 of the number of students domiciled in Northern Ireland who are eligible for a loan is 27,000.
Loan-bearing courses do not require designation if they are at institutions receiving support from public funds.
