To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will take steps to restore the level of regional incentive expenditure to that of 1979.

Mr. Leigh

We have no plans to make changes to regional industrial policy. The Government remain committed to an effective regional industrial policy and will continue to make the necessary resources available.
