§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonMy noble and learned Friend the Lord Advocate has not issued any guidance in the last 10 years to procurators fiscal in respect of contraventions of the Acts or byelaws specified. Any 583W reports received by procurators fiscal alleging such contraventions are considered according to the individual circumstances of each case.
§ Mr. WallaceTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many(a) prosecutions have been brought and (b) convictions obtained in respect of alleged offences under (i) the Employment of Women, Young Persons and Children Act 1920, (ii) part III of the Children and Young Persons (Scotland) Act 1937 as amended and (iii) local byelaws made under section 28 of the Children and Young Persons (Scotland) Act 1937, in each year since 1980.
