HC Deb 20 June 1991 vol 193 c293W
Mr. Darling

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what proportion of London Underground trains run on time.

Mr. Freeman

Because of the very high frequency of many underground trains, comprehensive data on performance against timetables is not compiled. The Government monitor the average times that passengers wait for trains. In the first quarter of 1991, the average scheduled wait for a train was 2.5 minutes, the actual wait was 3.4 minutes.
