To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many Overseas Development Administration personnel and relief workers sponsored by Overseas Development Administration were in Iraq, Iran, or Turkey on(a) 6 June, (b) 13 June and (c) 20 June; and how many are planned to be there on 27 June.

We are consulting with the United Nations agencies on future requirements.

1 The total demand made by the charging authority on the collection fund plus the precepts on the fund made by the precepting authorities, i.e. the Metropolitan police and the London Fire and Civil Defence Authority. It thus represents the expenditure by all tiers of authorities financed by the collection fund. This expenditure does not include expenditure covered by specific grants.
2 The sum of revenue support grant, contributions from the non-domestic rate pool, special grants and community charge grant.
3 Specific grants in aggregate external finance, community charge reduction scheme grant and community charge benefit. Specific grants to precepting authorities, i.e. Metropolitan police and London Fire and Civil Defence Authority amount to £141 per head.
