§ Mr. Nicholas BennettWe are today publishing guidance in a circular describing the role the planning system can play in securing the provision of affordable housing, and advising how additional land may be released to meet local needs in rural areas. The circular follows similar advice issued to local authorities in England last month and announced in the House by my hon. Friend the Minister for Housing and Planning at the Department of the Environment. Copies of the circular have been placed in the Library of the House.
