HC Deb 18 June 1991 vol 193 cc123-4W
Ms. Armstrong

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will list in rank order the amount spent by each local education authority on special needs.

Mr. Fallon

For 1988–89, the latest year for which information on actual spending is available from local education authorities' returns, their spending on special schools, home and hospital tuition, child guidance and educational psychological services was as shown in the table. These figures exclude expenditure to meet the special needs of pupils in primary and secondary schools, and of further education students, as information on this expenditure is not collected separately.
