To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many court summonses were issued by Welsh local authorities in relation to poll tax payments in 1990–91.

The number of court summonses for non-payment of community charge in Wales to 31 March 1991 was 297,019.

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what was the average percentage of the total of the poll tax bills collected by Welsh local authorities for the last financial year.

Local authorities in Wales currently estimate that, in respect of community charges for 1990–91, they will collect 94 per cent. of the full amount due.
