HC Deb 13 June 1991 vol 192 c662W
Mr. Simon Hughes

To ask the Lord President of the Council, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Gedling (Mr. Mitchell) of 6 June,Official Report, column 319, what percentage of publications printed by Her Majesty's Stationery Office on behalf of the House of Commons is not of archival significance; and what are the reasons for not producing such material on recycled paper.

Mr. MacGregor

It is not possible to give an objective estimate of the percentage of publications considered to be of archival significance. The Accommodation and Administration Sub-Committee is giving further consideration to the use of recycled paper for the Vote bundle, which could include a trial run by HMSO during the summer recess, and I would be prepared to ask it to carry out similar exercises for material which is clearly not of archival significance.
