To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many man hours were devoted to(a) BSE, (b) salmonella and (c) blue-ear disease at the Lincoln veterinary investigation centre on (i) 31 December and (ii) 31 May; and if he will make a statement.

In the period 31 December 1990 to 31 May 1991, 398 man hours were devoted to BSE, 1,239 man-hours were devoted to salmonella and an estimated 100 man-hours were devoted to suspect blue-ear disease of pigs at the Lincoln veterinary investigation centre.
