§ Mr. Heathcoat-AmoryUp to 50 per cent.—around 7 million tonnes—of the ash from coal-fired power stations is used for commercial purposes in a number of constructional applications and building products, for example, as structural fill material in road construction projects, in the manufacture of aerated building blocks and lightweight aggregates, and concrete applications.
