§ Mr. KirkwoodTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list current United Kingdom regulations in force or pending which restrict or control the erection of high-volume waste incinerators in the vicinity of food storage and processing premises.
§ Mr. BaldryThe erection of a high-volume waste incinerator would require planning permission under the Town and Country Planning Acts. Before they can operate, new incinerators must also be authorised under part I of the Environmental Protection Act either by the local authority or Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution, depending on the volume of the incinerator.
