§ Mr. Tim SmithTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will arrange for publication, for each Government Department, of the total amount spent in 1990–91 on(a) management and computer consultancy contracts, excluding hardware and software purchases, (b) details of each contract awarded in that year, giving the name of the consultancy firm and the subject of the assignment and (c) the total amount budgeted to spend in 1991–92.
§ Mr. MellorInformation on all Departments is not held centrally. For expenditure by Her Majesty's Treasury in the financial year 1990–91, I refer my hon. Friend to the reply given by my hon. Friend the Economic Secretary on 4 June at column142. These figures include the cost of development studies, which in turn include the cost of associated hardware and software; the latter items are not separately identifiable.
The Treasury's budgeted consultancy spend for financial year 1991–92 is £3,568,000.
