HC Deb 07 June 1991 vol 192 c370W
Mr. Michael

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what assessment he has made of the implications for the provision of peripatetic music teaching in the schools of south Glamorgan of the introduction of local management of schools.

Sir Wyn Roberts

We attach great value to the music service in schools and are anxious to see it continuing. Nevertheless, we do not believe that valuable provision of this sort will be threatened if local education authorities decide to delegate the funds to schools. Parents will want to see music provision maintained in the schools that their children attend and so will governors.
