§ Mr. Nicholas BennettAn investigation of data relating to the incidence of cancers in north Wales over the period 1974 to 1983 was undertaken at the invitation of the Welsh Office by Professor Hubert Campbell, emeritus professor of medical statistics, university of Wales. The results were published in July 1988.
"Cancer Registration in Wales: 1974–1984", published in 1988, contained a comprehensive analysis of cancer incidence in Wales based on information held on the 369W Welsh Cancer Registry in respect of the years 1974 to 1984. A further report of the Welsh Cancer Registry, which will include data for 1984 to 1986, is currently being prepared.
§ Mr. WigleyTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales what further steps he proposes taking to improve cancer services for people residing in Gwynedd.
§ Mr. Nicholas BennettConsultation on the wide-ranging recommendations in the Deloitte, Haskins and Sells report into cancer treatment services for north Wales produced numerous and varying responses. These are being considered and an announcement will be made in due course.
