Mr. Wilson

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list the incidents involving potential safety risks reported to his Department since the introduction of class 158 trains; and if he will make a statement.

The Railways (Notice of Accidents) Order 1986 (SI 1986 No. 2187) categorises accident types and specifies the circumstances in which accidents should be reported. The following list shows all accidents, together with causes, involving class 158 trains since their introduction which have been reported to the Health and Safety Executive's railway inspectorate in accordance with the order. The details for 1991 should be regarded as provisional:
