To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the current number of frigates on order for the Royal Navy and when he expects the next ship of the type 23 class to be brought into service.

There are currently seven type 23 frigates on order. The next ship of the class is expected to enter service before the end of the year.
