§ Mr. ChopeThe carbon monoxide limits in the amendment to the Construction and Use Regulations, which were introduced on 4 July, are 4.5 per cent. for a vehicle first used on or after 1 August 1983 and 6 per cent. for a vehicle first used between I August 1975 and 31 July 1983. It is expected the exhaust emmission standards will become more stringent in future years, to reflect improved technology and stricter European Community requirements for new vehicles, particularly the introduction of catalytic converters on a large scale.
