HC Deb 25 July 1991 vol 195 c910W
Mr. Tony Lloyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) what extra moneys will be made available in the current financial year to the Central Manchester hospital trust to guarantee continuity of patient care;

(2) if he will make a statement on the financial position of the Central Manchester hospital trust, including details of any plans or proposals which will lead to a reduction of the financial overspend.

Mr. Dorrell

The Central Manchester hospital trust had an overspend in the first quarter of this financial year. It has taken the action necessary to balance income and expenditure for the year.

Mr. Tony Lloyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what assessment he had made of the quality and quantity of services provided by the Central Manchester hospital trust; and if he will take steps to ensure they are sustained in the future.

Mr. Dorrell

The quality and quantity of the services it provides both now and in the future are a matter for agreement between the Central Manchester hospital trust and its purchasers.
