Mr. Edwards

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security which leaflets and claim forms for social security benefits are available in the Welsh language; what percentage of social security offices employ Welsh-speaking counter staff and other officials who deal with the public; and what steps are being taken to improve services, information and advice in the Welsh language.

The service provided for Welsh-speaking customers is a matter for Mr. Michael Bichard, the chief executive of the Benefits Agency. He will write to the hon. Member and copies will be placed in the Library and the Public Information office.
