§ Mr. FreemanThe Government have awarded seven inland waterways freight facilities grants since 1981. There have also been a number of enquiries from industry which have not led to grant applications. There is no separate budget for section 36 grants: these and the grants for rail freight facilities available under section 8 of the Railways Act 1974 share a common budget, which is set at £3.8 million for 1991–92. The total number of section 36 grants awards is as follows:
