HC Deb 18 July 1991 vol 195 cc265-6W
Mr. Steen

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many airlines have been fined for landing immigrants without proper documents in each of the last three years; which airlines were fined; what is the total amount levied in immigration fines; and whether all the money owed by airlines in immigration fines has been received.

Mr. Peter Lloyd

It is not the practice to disclose information on the record of individual carriers under the Act. The total amount incurred by all carriers to 10 July was £30.694 million, of which £13.541 million has been paid. Liability in respect of £2.301 million has been waived leaving £14.851 million outstanding.
