To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many representations he has received to date this year about the export of live animals.

Mr. Maclean

The Government continue to receive a large number of representations on this subject, particularly in relation to safeguards for animal welfare.

We welcome this support for the strong stance we are taking on the protection of animals.
