HC Deb 17 July 1991 vol 195 c211W
Mr. Ron Davies

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list those sites so far designated or identified for designation in Northern Ireland as special protection areas under EC directive 79/409 on the conservation of wild birds or wetlands of international importance under the Ramsar convention on wetlands of international importance especially waterfowl habitat.

Mr. Needham

No SPA sites have been designated in Northern Ireland. Lough Neagh, with Lough Beg, has been designated as a Ramsar site. A review of potential SPA and Ramsar sites in Northern Ireland will be carried out later this year and a list of proposed sites will be produced.
