To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make it obligatory for evidence of third party motor insurance cover to be displayed in vehicle windscreens in the same way as vehicle excise duty.

No. Compulsory motor insurance in the United Kingdom focuses on the driver rather than a particular vehicle. A windscreen disc would not prove, therefore, whether a vehicle was being driven in accordance with the terms of a valid insurance policy.
