To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what has been the percentage change in the level of unemployment in the last 12 months in (i) Leyton and (ii) London.

Mr. Jackson

In the parliamentary constituency of Leyton and in the Greater London region, unemployment, not seasonally adjusted, increased by 60 per cent. in the 12 months to May 1991.
