To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he has any plans to increase the complement of qualified nuclear inspectors.

Mr. Forth

On 1 June 1991, there were 163 nuclear inspectors in post in the Health and Safety Executive. HSE plans to increase this to 176 by 1 April 1992.
