To ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) what guidance he has issued to health authority trust funds about inappropriate investment;

(2) what information he has on the incidence of health authority trust funds investing in tobacco companies; and if he will make a statement.

The Trustee Investment Act 1961 gives the basic powers for investing in particular securities. We have not issued any specific guidance. Information about investment by health authority trust funds in any particular security is not held centrally.
