§ Mr. RedmondTo ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member for Don Valley of 4 June,Official Report, column 196, if he will make it his practice to keep central records of the number of public footpaths and public bridleways that have been created or closed to the general public.
§ Mr. NeedhamUnder the Access to the Countryside (NI) Order 1983 it is the responsibility of each district council to compile and preserve maps and other records of public rights of way in its district. It is not my intention to have the Department of Environment for Northern Ireland duplicate those records.
