To ask the Secretary of State for Wales whether he has plans to improve the quality of Welsh water.

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales when he next proposes to meet the chairman of Welsh Water plc to discuss its targets for capital expenditure and compliance with statutory environmental limits.

Mr. Nicholas Bennett

The Department is regularly in touch with Welsh Water plc on a wide range of matters including its performance, and my right hon. Friend will certainly discuss these issues at any meeting with the company.
