Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he plans to meet(a) local education authorities of Wales, (b) the teachers' unions and (c) the parent-teacher associations of Wales to discuss the national curriculum.

Sir Wyn Roberts

We have already had extensive consultations with these bodies. We have no plans at present to meet them, but intend to make a statement shortly on the national curriculum in Wales for pupils aged 14 to 16.

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he plans to call an all-Wales conference of those concerned with education to discuss the national curriculum.
