HC Deb 16 January 1991 vol 183 cc538-9W
Mr. Watson

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list in respect of the 1989–90 community charge transitional relief scheme for Strathclyde regional council(a) how many applications have been received, (b) how many applications have been approved, (c) to how many applicants payment of rebate has been made and (d) how much in total has been paid out in rebates.

Mr. Allan Stewart

[holding answer 15 January 1991]: Regional and islands councils are required to provide information of the kind requested, together with information on relief paid to former ratepayers who receive relief automatically, in their claims for reimbursement to the Department. No such claim has yet been received from Strathclyde and the information requested is therefore not yet available centrally.
