To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many 16 and 17-year-olds have been refused income support as a percentage of applicants in the past 12 months.

During 1990, 41 claimants, some 14 per cent. of all claimants aged 16–17, were refused income support.

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many 16 and 17-year-olds have(a) applied for and (b) been granted crisis loans under the social fund in the past 12 months for each social security office.
