To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the increase in the real take-home pay of a married man with two children on male average earnings between 1979 and 1991.

A married man with two children on average male earnings has enjoyed an increase in real net income of 31 per cent. or £58 per week since 1978–79.
