Mr. Wilkinson

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what instructions have been given to the British representative at the current session of the United Nations Human Rights Commission in Geneva to stress the need for the commission to take active note of gross violations of human rights by the Government of Ethiopia; and if he will make a statement.

Mrs. Chalker

The head of the British delegation to the United Nations Human Rights Commission is fully aware of the concern about human rights violations in Ethiopia and will be guided accordingly.
