§ Mr. Lennox-BoydI refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave on 1 February to my hon. Friend the Member for Wanstead and Woodford (Mr. Arbuthnot) which stated that the cash limit for class II, vote 3 (external broadcasting and monitoring) would be increased by £4,760,000. Of this sum £1,160,000 will be devoted to extra expenditure incurred in this financial year as a result of the Gulf war. The remaining costs of extra broadcasting to the end of this financial year are being met from existing Foreign and Commonwealth Office funds.
