To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many places there were in day centres in Wales for mentally ill people in 1989; and what was the corresponding figure for 1979.

There were 935 places in day centres in Wales for mentally ill people at 31 March 1939. The corresponding figure for 31 March 1979 was 393.
