To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on the impact on the Northern Ireland agriculture industry of the recent proposed reforms of the common agriculture policy by the Commission of the European Communities.

Mr. Hanley

The impact on Northern Ireland agriculture cannot be assessed until the European Commission tables detailed proposals. I am not therefore in a position to make a statement at this stage.
